Lawn Sprinkler Winterizations
Replacing a Ball Valve on a PVB
Lawn Sprinkler Systems need to be winterized properly in Colorado.
The Denver Metro area suffers extreme temperature swings which can cause expensive damage to a sprinkler system.
Blowing water out of a sprinkler system helps you avoid costly repairs to Backflow Prevention Devices, Sprinkler Heads, Electric Control Valves and Underground Pipes.
Sprinkler Winterizations should be performed by qualified sprinkler technicians.
A sprinkler winterization is performed by pushing an extreme amount of air through the sprinkler system in order to evacuate the residual water from the system.
Professionals use tow behind compressors or have trucks equipped with compressors which create 125 CFM (cubic feet/minute) of air.
Each zone is run through until only vapor is exiting through fully erect sprinkler heads (approximately two minutes per zone).
The compressor we have will be returned on Friday (11/14) morning, so this is your last chance to have your system winterized properly.
Wednesday (11/12) afternoon is being scheduled for the North Denver, Lakewood, Golden Area.
Thursday (11/13) is being scheduled for the South Denver, Centennial, Greenwood Village, Littleton, Highlands Ranch Area.

~Gardening Tip~
Now is the time to begin performing dormant pruning and rejuvenation pruning of shrubs. Taking dead wood or old wood out of bushes, such as a Red Dogwood - Cornus sericea, will promote new colored wood or better growth.
